Modiin with kids
Modiin is a young, family-heavy city with state and state-religious gans and schools in every neighbourhood, large parks and a dense network of bike paths. After-school care is run city-wide by Amutat Sachlavim, and daycare for ages 0-3 is run by WIZO, Emunah, Newton and other operators.

Register for gan and school
Registration is online, usually in January-February for the next school year; for 2026-27 it ran 19 Jan-8 Feb 2026. New residents upload ID appendices, a certified rental or purchase contract and a cancellation form from their previous city.

Book a tzaharon
Sachlavim runs after-school care in gans (Sun-Thu 14:00-17:00) and for grades 1-2; register alongside school registration.

Find a daycare (maon)
The municipality publishes a list of daycare centres by neighbourhood for ages 0-3, including WIZO, Emunah, Newton and Sachlavim centres.

Ask about education discounts
The education discount committee accepts requests each autumn; in 2026 the window was 6 Oct-6 Nov.

Get outside
Anava Park has an 8 m adventure playground and a lake; the Moriah bike park has a pump track for children; the Children's Forest and Titura Hill are easy family walks.

Swim and play sport
The municipal sports centre on Emek Zevulun has the city pool and a toddler pool; the Recreation and Sports Park on Emek HaEla has a water park for ages 6-12.

Matnas Modiin / Sachlavim runs chugim, holiday camps, a conservatory and an art centre across the city.

Children already in a gan must re-register every year. Single parents can apply for a state subsidy for gan tzaharonim.
