Tombs of the Maccabees (Kivrei HaMakabim)

Rock-cut graves on a low hill known as Kubur el-Yahud, linked to the Maccabees since students lit a Hanukkah candle there in 1907; the Maccabi torch relay began here in 1943. Later research dismissed the identification, so it is a tradition, not a finding.
