Where to stay

Where to stay in and around Modiin

Modiin has one hotel; the closest alternatives are a village hotel near Latrun and airport-area hotels. What each option suits, and how to look for short-term rentals.

Modiin is mostly residential, and until 2025 it had no hotel at all. Today the choice is small.

In the city

Jacob Modi'in Hotel, 13 Ar'ar St, opened in March 2025 next to Azrieli Mall, Anava Park and Modiin Center station, with 85 rooms and suites (Times of Israel (opens in a new tab)). The hotel says it is kosher under the Modiin Rabbinate, runs a Shabbat lift and has a synagogue on site; check-in is from 15:00, or 18:00 on Saturdays and holidays (hotel (opens in a new tab)). It suits business visitors, families visiting relatives and anyone arriving by train.

Near the city

  • Neve Shalom / Wahat al-Salam Hotel in the Ayalon Valley near Latrun, roughly 10 km south of Modiin Center in a straight line: 41 family rooms, gardens and a semi-Olympic pool (hotel (opens in a new tab)). Good with a car, for the Latrun sites, Mini Israel and Canada Park.
  • Sadot Hotel (Atlas) at the Shamir (Assaf Harofeh) medical centre in Be'er Ya'akov: 67 rooms, kosher, with a free airport shuttle; about 12 km from Ben Gurion Airport (hotel (opens in a new tab)). Useful for early flights or hospital visits.

Short-term rentals

Many visitors stay with family or rent a flat. Search by neighbourhood name on the big platforms: the areas nearest Modiin Center station and Anava Park are City Center, HaPrachim and Masuah; Maccabim and Re'ut are quieter, low-rise areas with fewer bus lines. Check that a rental is in Modiin-Maccabim-Re'ut, not Modiin Illit (a separate town a few kilometres to the north-east), and that it has a protected room (mamad) or a nearby shelter: the Home Front Command gives the city 90 seconds to reach a protected space (municipality (opens in a new tab)).

Getting around from your base

Both train stations have direct trains to Jerusalem and to Ben Gurion Airport and Tel Aviv; on Shabbat only the free weekend line 712 to Tel Aviv runs (municipality (opens in a new tab)).
